Feeding A Digital Tony Soprano Gabagool Is The Tamagotchi We Didn’t Know We Needed

Before the gaming industry exploded, handheld pocket-sized devices were all the rage. One of the most popular handheld games born from the 90s was Tamagotchi. It’s a simple game that challenges you to raise a digital pet, which includes feeding it, keeping it happy, and making sure its other essential needs are met. From the 90s and into the early 2000s, you’d have been hard pressed to find a kid without one. Even today, Tamagotchi has a cult-following.

Independent toy maker DebonairHeads created a new Tamagotchi-style game that is perhaps the best example of the device’s lasting pop cultural relevance. To celebrate The Soprano’s 25th Anniversary, DebonairHeads released a hilarious Tony Soprano-inspired Tamagotchi, cleverly named Tonygotchi. Rather than the traditional egg-shaped device, it’s made to resemble an egg-shaped Tony.

The game lets you live vicariously through a digital version of his life. You can eat dinner with the family, feed him some gabagool, use the crapper, visit the strip club, and even pulverize a rival mob member. DebonairHeads didn’t shy away from charging a pretty penny for it either, as the Tonygotchi was sold for $750, and is already sold out.

Fortunately for those into collectibles, DebonairHeads sells a variety of pop-culture-inspired toys that are available for purchase on his website
