Don’t Be Scared Of Eating Geoduck Clam

Forget everything you thought you knew about clams; geoduck is more than just a baby arm attached to a shell — it’s a seafood icon worth trying.

In the second episode of Foodbeast World Tour, MeesterKeem heads to the Pacific Northwest, exploring the best eats that Seattle has to offer. One of the highlights of the episode is his encounter with the imposing geoduck clam. Pronounced “gooey-duck” — because scientists somehow like to fuck with us — this clam is the largest burrowing clam in the world and also one of the longest-living animals in the world, with an average lifespan of 140 years.

Keem pulled up to Taylor Shellfish Farms in Seattle, Washington to experience this clam-with-an-attitude firsthand.

Though the first impression involved Keem catching an oceanic facial straight from the geoduck clam’s mighty siphon, that didn’t stop him from giving the bivalve a try — starting with its gonads. I guess that seems fair given the rude awakening Keem received upon meeting the stout shellfish.

So, why settle for the ordinary when you can savor the extraordinary? Take it from MeesterKeem and his mouthful of this salty sea specialty.
