How Bizarre Antics Of A Restaurant’s Owner Led To Its Downfall During The Pandemic

When overzealous Long Beach, California restaurant owner Dana Tanner defied local shutdown orders amidst the height of the global pandemic, the last thing one would have thought was how funny the situation would be. Especially not when the calamitous effects of the pandemic gutted restaurants and small businesses and had folks questioning the local and federal government’s response to it.

Yet three years later, a new documentary highlighting the defiant owner’s antics has debuted, all captured by one of Tanner’s own employees. Entitled, Damn, Dana, the comedic documentary was helmed by said restaurant employee, Brandon Ogborn, who threw a humorous lens on the downward spiral of Tanner as she fought through fines, criminal charges, and legal troubles just to keep her restaurant, Restauration, afloat during the pandemic.

Tanner’s emphasis to keep Restauration running was the foundation for the defiant tactics she carried out to keep its doors open, culminating in an infamous incident where she illegally ran a gas line from an adjacent apartment complex.

Was Tanner bat shit crazy? Or was she a rebel with a cause? Check out Damn, Dana now on YouTube to make the call.
