Super Mario Bros.-Themed Restaurant Powers Up In Universal Studios Hollywood

Get ready to power-up your taste buds, because the upcoming Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood is serving up more than just virtual reality thrills. The Toadstool Cafe, a Super Mario Bros.-themed restaurant, will serve up a menu fit for a true gaming fan.

The restaurant takes much of its inspiration from Kinopio’s Café, its sister restaurant, inside Osaka’s Universal Studios Japan. Fun fact: Kinopio is the Japanese name for Toad.

The mushroom-shaped fast-casual restaurant features a digital Chef Toad cooking (see above) as well as various power-up icons and Warp Pipes. The menu is primarily Italian-American meets Mario’s World. Think Mario and Luigi burgers, Super Mushroom Soup and Piranha Plant Caprese. According to reports, some of the dishes come from the original Kinopio’s Café while others are unique to this location.

Super Nintendo World’s Toadstool Cafe will be open daily starting February 17. Admission to Universal Studios Hollywood is required for entry.
