Watch This Kebab Almost Reach Space

I’d say that my love for a good kebab goes to the moon and back. The fact that the clip above is a damn near accurate personification of that sentiment honestly made my day. And also, the universe must be telling us something.

Kaburgacı Yaşar, CEO of Turkish restaurant chain, Ugur Aydin, decided to celebrate the the 61st anniversary of the first human space flight by attempting to launch a kebab into outer space.

To do this, the kebab was attached to a large helium balloon, along with a GoPro camera to document the endeavor. The kebab was making fine progress up until it reached 25 miles above, all the way up in the mesosphere, before beginning to descend and landing in the ocean off Turkey’s southern coast.
