McDonald’s China Baffles the Internet with New Cilantro Sundae
For the most part, McDonald’s menu items exclusive to certain countries have been enviable, leaving many US fans wondering why we never get the good shit. McDonald’s China’s newest Cilantro Sundae is not and will never be one of the ones we wish were available stateside.
This peculiar new dessert is a limited time offering at McDonald’s locations from February 21 to February 25 and is essentially the brand’s soft serve ice cream topped with a lime green cilantro sauce and a sprinkle of the herb on top.
Cilantro has been a divisive herb to many, as some individuals can attest to it tasting more like soap. So it’s no surprise Twitter ignited with horrified and hostile reactions from the general public.
@RealBobbyPlays cleverly quipped: “The only good thing about McDonalds China making a cilantro sundae is that most people that try to order it won’t be able to, because the ice cream machine is broken.”
Funny tweet, for sure. Wish I could say the same thing for the reality of this Cilantro Sundae. But then again I’ll try anything once; maybe I’ll throw in some tomatoes, onions, Serrano peppers, salt, and lime juice, then scoop it with tortilla chips. Tell me you’re not down.
