Flamin’ Hot Doritos Locos Tacos: Taco Bell Confirms Nationwide Launch
This past week, rumors have begun to circulate on the internet that Taco Bell locations were starting to sell a Flamin’ Hot Doritos Locos Taco. After keeping track of what folks have been spotting, Foodbeast has been able to confirm with Taco Bell that this is a legitimate item, and it may be coming nationwide soon.
Rumors of the Flamin’ Hot Doritos Locos Taco first came via Chewboom, where a reader there submitted images and information about the taco that they picked up at a location in San Antonio, Texas. This reader stopped by their nearby Taco Bell on March 31st to take advantage of the recent free Doritos Locos Tacos deal, and was offered the Flamin’ Hot taco shell.
The actual shell appears to be inspired by Flamin’ Hot Nacho Doritos, a new variety of the chip that was introduced in 2019.
That post made its way to Reddit, where other folks began to comment that they, too, had either obtained or offered the Flamin’ Hot DLT shell.
Some of these Reddit comments also claimed that Taco Bell would be launching this nationwide as soon as April 16th. Foodbeast was unable to confirm whether these mentions came from actual Taco Bell employees, or if they were from customers that heard it from the restaurants they visited.

Foodbeast reached out to Taco Bell with all of this information and a request for comment on it. The response consisted of the above provided image, confirming that the Flamin’ Hot Doritos Locos Taco is a real product and coming soon. Update: Taco Bell has since confirmed to Foodbeast that Flamin’ Hot Doritos Locos Tacos will launch on April 16th at all locations nationwide. Each taco is $1.95, or comes as part of a $2 duo with a Medium Drink. They can also be ordered as part of taco variety packs.
