Popeyes Is Selling 24 Karat Gold Champagne Wings For TODAY Only

Golden foods have become one of the hot food fads of 2018, and Popeyes is keeping the bougie movement going. They’ve developed a celebratory wing topped with 24-karat gold that’s being given away for one day only.

To celebrate the opening of their 3000th location, Popeyes is serving up 24 Karat Champagne Wings for TODAY only. The item consists of boneless wings dipped in a champagne batter and deep fried before being tossed in edible 24-karat gold flakes. If you want them, it’ll have to be as part of the $5 Boneless Wing Bash, which pairs six of the boneless wings with a choice of side and a biscuit.

Only four locations across the United States will be selling these exclusive champagne-battered gold wings. Those restaurants are as follows:

868 C E Grand Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07201

75 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10010

621 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70130

1005 North Magnolia Blvd, Anaheim, CA 92801

Today may not be the only day these wings ever make an appearance, though. A Popeyes representative told Foodbeast that they’ll be looking at consumer response to the exclusive item this time around. “Nothing is confirmed, but certainly with more celebrations to be had in the future there’s a possibility they could come back,” the rep said.

UPDATE:

We’ve since gone and tried the new 24 Karat Champagne Wings at one of the locations for ourselves. This is what they look like:

There’s an extra hit of cayenne on these wings to balance out the sweetness of the champagne, which actually does come through in the batter. They’re definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby one of the locations today.
