Ayesha Curry And Michael Mina Bring The Heat With Their Dungeness Crab Tom Kha

Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina’s International Smoke has been the talk of the Bay Area restaurant scene since its recent opening. Now, the two culinary talents are teaming up to twist up Tom Kha, a classic Thai soup, with some SF inspiration.

This spicy and sour soup is made with coconut milk and gets a unique addition straight from Fisherman’s Wharf: tender pieces of Dungeness crab meat. The sweet, seafood notes from the crab harmonize with the hot and acidic notes coming from the Tom Kha to create a well-balanced dish with flavor and hype to spare.

Curry and Mina’s Dungeness Crab Tom Kha is being made for Noods Noods Noods Oakland, Foodbeast’s AYCE Asian food festival presented by Nissin Cup Noodles and taking place on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 in Oakland, California. You can catch the Tom Kha in the all you can eat section of the festival.

Curry and Mina have also crafted a craveworthy side to pair with their Dungeness Crab Tom Kha: Coconut curry cornbread, slathered with a spicy honey butter. Dunking this Southern staple into the soup is gonna be an absolute must.

If this unique blend of Southern and Thai cuisine tantalizes your tastebuds, make sure to get tickets to one of the two AYCE sessions of Noods Oakland to try this item out for yourself. There’s also tickets available for the buy-as-you-go Marketplace, for those interested.
