What No One Is Talking About With Taco Bell’s New Nacho Fries
Fries are officially coming to Taco Bell locations in the United States, and people are freaking out.
While many Taco Bell purists around the globe have already been blessed with crispy fries, us Taco Bell lovers here in the states have had to indulge with our eyes from afar. But on January 25th, the Nacho Fries will be available nationwide and the possibilities are endless — let me explain.
Tito Reach (Foodbeast’s Managing Editor) and I swung by the Taco Bell headquarters to indulge and dig a bit further into the great new frontier that is Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries!
Here’s what we learned:
The Base Model: Nacho Fries – $1
For only $1, the Nacho Fries come in a cool new fry packaging. Each potato stick is crispy, dusted with a bold Mexican seasoning and comes with a side of warm nacho cheese sauce for dipping.
While the fries are in the container, I like to drizzle both Diablo sauce and ketchup on the entire mound, let the juices permeate for a bit into the porous fries, and rake them into the nacho cheese sauce. Trust me on this move, your stomach will be pleased.
The Supreme – $2.49
In both the Supreme and Bell Grande models (that’s coming next), the fries move from the sleek carton to a plate — that’s because this model comes with seasoned beef, tomatoes, nacho cheese sauce, and reduced fat sour cream.
The Bell Grande – $3.49
Take everything you love about the Supreme Nacho Fries and just make it bigger. My personal fave of the three is the same toppings as before, just double the fries!
I like to start from the middle of the plate where the sour cream, cheese and beef meet, and work outwards. Get my juicy bites first, and save some of the lesser topped fries for cleanup duty at the end.
What People Will Be Talking About: Adding Fries To ANYTHING On The Menu – Menu Item + $0.49
This was probably the most enlightening part about mine and Reach’s journey into the playground that is Taco Bell. Upon request – once the fries hit the menu – Taco Bell team members can put an order of fries into seemingly anything else in their lineup.
When Reach ordered his go-to Beefy Fritos Burrito with fries, they obliged.
When I ordered a XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito with fries, they obliged again — instant California-style burrito. Fries in the chicken quesadilla? Yup, that works too.
And starting January 25th, I foresee plenty-a-crazy food porn surfacing featuring Taco Bell’s new fries in various items.
French fry Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch? French Fries in the Mexican Pizza?! Heck, these fries can even be a welcome substitute to meat the way many vegetarians utilize the chain’s seasoned Fiesta Potatoes.
Taco Bell is notorious for staying on the cutting edge of craveable, Insta-worthy fast food delicacies, and they certainly didn’t disappoint this time.
Now the million dollar question to ask here is: What TBell creations will you infiltrate with these deliciously crunchy and seasoned fries?
