New Popsicle Hack Trending In Japan Gives You Instant Sorbet

Popsicles were a blessing when we were younger. The only other feeling that came close to the sweet and icy cool of a good popsicle on a blistering day was when I finally figured out how to beat Devil Kazuya at the end of Tekken 2. While our love for the frozen dessert hasn’t wavered as we grew into adulthood, we have to wonder if there’s a little more grown-up way to enjoy the icy treat.

A new trend in Japan seems to address that, as it has folks turning their popsicle sticks into straight up instant sorbets reports SoraNews.

Essentially, you take a glass and fill it about 1/3 of the way with carbonated water. Then, taking a spoon, submerge your popsicle inside until it breaks apart and falls off the stick. Simply mash the contents together until they’re evenly mixed and you have yourself a sorbet-like dessert. Sure it’s a little more time-consuming, but think of having sorbet anytime you’d like in the convenience of your own home.

Try it out next time your air conditioner shuts down and you’re looking for a cold and refreshing snack to help you handle the summer heat.
