Souffle Pancakes Are Asia’s Latest Pastry Hype
We all know that pancakes are pretty much a staple in the American breakfast food realm, while the soufflé is standard in French cuisine. Fuse the culinary concepts of the two dishes, take them to Japan, and you’ve got Cloud 9 on a casserole.
The latest pastry plug in Japan is the souffle pancake! Thicker than a Snicker, softer than your girl’s booty, and… probably just as tasty; this dish continues to pop up in cafes around Japan, and the rest of Asia.
Served similarly as you would a short stack (only taller), the pancakes are as fluffy and fidgety as you’d expect, due to the soufflé egg properties.
