American Kids Try Filipino Food, Can’t Deal With The Pig’s Blood

There’s a lot of safe, American-friendly Filipino food that we look at and say, “All right, I can do that.”

Then there’s pig’s blood and balut (developing bird embryo).

WatchCut got a group of American kids together, and had them try some of the more taboo Filipino foods. The kids were open to some of them, such as the “Dilis” which is a deep fried anchovy, but as soon as they got to the “Dinuguan,” or pig’s blood, they just weren’t having it.

The Balut egg wasn’t exactly a favorite for the kids, and if you’ve ever seen the Balut accidentally hatch, you’d want to stay the hell away, too.
