Joey Chestnut Casually Ate A World Record 73 Hot Dogs As A Warmup
Practice sessions for competitive eaters are a little different than practice for other competitions. You’ll often see basketball players put up 1,000 shots, or baseball players field ground balls, but competitive eaters essentially just eat a lot. Go figure.
Joey “Jaws” Chestnut gave a glimpse of his practice, as he casually ate a world record 73 1/2 hot dogs in 10 minutes, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.
Of course, practice means nothing, and the record at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest is still 69, a number Chestnut put up in 2013.

Still, it’s pretty amazing how a human being can just casually down dozens of hot dogs when it counts for nothing but practice.
We’re talking about practice?
Jaws might need to down another 73 during the July 4 competition, because he actually got beat out by Matt “Megatoad” Stonie last year, and surely wants to reclaim his crown.
