Starbucks Is Doing Something Great With Its Unsold Food

Starbucks goes through a ton of food every day. The coffee chain has become a leader in quick-service, which means each restaurant should be stocked with enough food to last for weeks.

However, not everyone can afford some of the pricier food options Starbucks offers. Naturally, there would be some left over.

CEO Howard Shultz told CNN that Starbucks will be working with Feeding America food bank network to donate 100 percent of that unsold food to charity.

While the company has been using a pickup system to delivery unsold pastries, they’re working towards getting the unsold food items that are perishable in the hands of those who need it.

Sure, it’ll probably be a while before they figure out how to get those spoilable breakfast sandwiches to the needy. Though it’s cool to see them take steps towards helping others, especially with all the food that goes to waste. Also, Latte-Gate.
