This Is Starbucks’ New Cherry Blossom Frappuccino, And It’s Beautiful
As most people know, the people of Japan are all super into cherry blossom trees, or “sakura.” The budding flowers on the branches are sticklers for timing, blooming only as soon as the Japanese springtime makes its way into the country. And when the tide of pink flowers rolls in, so do their Starbucks counterparts, the Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Frappuccino.
Well, this year might be a little more special. For the first time ever, Starbucks will be releasing their famed Cherry Blossom Frappuccino in the United States, previously only available in Japan. The sweet, icy beverage has risen in popularity ever since it’s inception in 2010.
The cream and crimson delight is made with strawberries and cream, white chocolate sauce, a matcha blend and finally, topped with Starbucks’ staple Frappuccino ingredient, a soft mound of whipped cream. Matcha, for those who don’t know, is a finely ground powder made from green tea leaves.
Unfortunately, this delectable drink will only be available for five days, from now until March 20th, so make sure to get ’em while they’re hot! Or rather, cold.
