From Health-Conscious Spiders To Double-Fisting Hot Dogs, It’s [The Katchup]

Welcome to the Foodbeast Weekly Katchup! Another week has passed, and with it, more of the biggest things to happen to food. We found the craziest stories we could find and put them all together in a smorgasbord of shock, wonder, fright and comfort.

No stone was left unturned this week, from hitchhiking spiders to the world’s loneliest blizzard, with hot dogs, chipotle rainchecks and lobster burgers all wedged uncomfortably in between. The hottest stories of the week:

1. In-N-Out Burger Combined With Lobster Roll

I pride myself on having seen some of the most beautiful wonders of the world. After seeing this gorgeous monstrosity of a creation, I can proudly say that I have looked into the eye of the beast and survived.

Slapfish chef Andrew Gruel (@andrewgruel) decided to let his freak flag fly when he dreamed up this heartthrob hamburger, and boy are we glad he did.

2. Baby Sea Lion Waddles Into Restaurant

There is a restaurant known as The Marine Room in San Diego that has a breakfast so good, our furry ocean friends are even emerging from their watery playground to make reservations.

One baby sea lion in particular surprised all the other guests when he nonchalantly strolled into the restaurant and took a seat at one of the tables. Despite how cute and adorable he is, having the king of the jungle of the sea stick his snout in your Eggs Benedict probably isn’t very safe or healthy. With that in mind, the manager called Sea World and had one of their animal retrieval teams come get the little guy and give him a fresh, nourished start.

3. Dairy Queen Releases Singles Blizzard

Dairy Queen has released their newest creation, insensitively called the Singles Blizzard. Although this delectable treat comes with salted caramel truffles and Reese’s peanut butter cups, those still won’t be enough to save you from the embarrassment of notifying everyone in the establishment that you’re sad and alone.

Still, this blizzard is worth the mortification. You don’t have to be single to order it either, don’t let Dairy Queen tell you how to live your life.

4. Burger King Comes Out With Hot Dogs

Burger King has been the Justin Bieber of fast food lately: both of them have always been “eh,” but lately they have been releasing banger after banger. My head might explode if I eat a new Burger King item while listening to a new Justin Bieber track at the same time.

Burger King is adding to the growing list of achievements by introducing their new hot dogs made with 100% Oscar Meyer beef wieners. They can also be upgraded for an extra $.30 to chili cheese dog, their ultimate form.

5. Chipotle Offers A Raincheck Burrito

On the other hand, one company that has not been summoning their inner Bieber is Chipotle. The health concerns over the E. Coli outbreaks have caused the Mexican fast food company’s popularity to wane over the past couple of weeks.

In an attempt to keep their customers happy, Chipotle offered a free burrito to anyone who texts “raincheck” to 888-222. After a day or so, you’ll get a text from Chipotle with a code to receive your complimentary meal. Unfortunately, many people typed in the wrong number and hilariously ended up reaching some poor bloke who never asked for a thousand texts saying “raincheck.”

P.S. You can get double meat and won’t be charged for the extra scoop. You’re welcome.

6. Giant Spider In A Bag Of Salad

This one goes out to every single adult in my life that forced me to eat vegetables as a child. See what happens when you eat vegetables? Utter chaos.

This giant 8-legged varmint somehow made his way into a bag of Woolsworth’s Italian Style Salad, probably to hunt down all the other animals, creatures and things that live in our pre-made salad bags.
