For One Crazy Day, Chipotle Will Hire 4,000 New Employees

Chipotle has this crazy idea that it should not only take care of its employees, but it should hire a lot more of them in a short amount of time.

The Mexican-ish restaurant announced that it will hold a National Career Day, Wednesday, September 9 from 8-11 a.m., where it plans to hire 4,000 new employees.

That means every single Chipotle restaurant across the US will be taking applications and is encouraging aspiring burrito makers to register on their National Career Day site.

Chipotle hired about 10,000 workers in all of 2014, and if they reach their 4,000 employee goal, they will have hired almost half of their 2014 milestone in one day.

This isn’t Chipotle’s first employee-friendly announcement this year, as in June it announced it would extend its benefits to all employees, not just those on salary. Let’s not forget those benefits include tuition reimbursement for college students, vacation pay and sick pay.

So in one fell swoop, 4,000 new hires will enjoy those awesome benefits as they stuff and wrap one of America’s favorite burritos.

Expect to see applicants lining up outside Chipotle restaurants like they’re at a Michael Jordan shoe release.
