A Tent Designed For You to Take Higher Quality Food Porn Pics

Do you ever wonder why your food pictures on Instagram always look like garbage? Aside from the stupid filter you put on it, it’s likely you’re taking the pic in a restaurant with terrible lighting.

At the Tsukemen Grand Prix, a month-long food festival in Tokyo, there was a solution to eliminate dark, shitty photos. When it got dark, they set up a white tent with a table and spotlights pointed down toward the table. This way, one could place one’s bowl of Tsukemen on the table to get it ready for its closeup.

You’re probably asking yourself, what the hell Tsukemen is. So did I. It’s just a noodle that’s a little denser than ramen, and it’s usually served dry on the side.

This lighting booth is an interesting concept that would be both awesome and annoying if tried in a restaurant. But surely, it’s coming.
