REPORT: How Much the CEOs of Your Favorite Fast Food Chains Make a Year
For anyone who’s ever wondered how much a CEO of their favorite fast-food chain makes on a yearly basis, the numbers are in. While these numbers aren’t very shocking, especially since these corporations see so much business nationally, they are a bit hard to look at from the standpoint of an employee working at said chain.
The report was submitted by the Economic Policy Institute, which covered more 25 of the largest restaurant chains in the United States. The average income of a CEO, as conducted in 2013 was about $10.9 million. This, of course, was raised significantly by Starbucks Corp who netted $137.5 million. Give or take. The average annual income of a regular employee of these chains, came out to $18,880 a year. Among the chains included in the report are Jack in the Box, Chipotle, Taco Bell and McDonald’s.
What’s the most depressing is that for a few hours of “work” a CEO will make more than one what would take one of their employees an entire year to earn. Though at least it’s still better than being a writer. WAIT.
