You Can Now 3D Print Intricate Sugar Skulls for Your Morning Coffee
Finally, the sugar cube game has changed. As Visual News put it, “Yes, they are super sweat [sic].”
The Sugar Lab team at 3D Systems put this project together and cranked out some gorgeously-shaped sugar designs, such as sugar skulls, sugar snowflakes, and even colored sugar shapes.
The ChefJet 3D Printer looks fairly intricate, as it has the ability to take printable materials that are edible, such as sugar and specially design them into whatever shapes your heart desires.
Printing food has been getting more popular, as we saw with the 3D printed Nutella, and even 3D printed ravioli.
3D Systems also made the Ekocycle Cube 3D printer, which made iPhone cases out of recycled bottles.
No official launch date has been set, but when showcasing the ChefJet back in January, 3D Systems said they’d launch the it in the second half of 2014. However, you can buy the Sugar Lab team’s sugary creations here to hold you off until the printer itself comes out.
