CRAVING: Aventine Hollywood’s Short Rib Agnolotti and Ossobuco
When one typically thinks of Los Angeles-based restaurants, celebrity chefs, ritzy entrepreneur transplants and fusion concepts come to mind. But at Aventine Trattoria, located on Cahuenga in Hollywood, the restaurant was able to combine well-executed traditional Italian cuisine, contemporary decor and an air of familial welcoming.
In addition to the friendly staff and wait-service, the specific attention to customer experience comes from the brother duo and co-owners, Chef Adolfo Veronese and Gian-Paolo Veronese. Not only did we receive multiple table touches, but both Veroneses were extremely active on the floor – a refreshing sight-to-see no matter the genre or category of restaurant. The brother duo has also teamed up with fellow restaurant entrepreneurs Sylvain Bitton and JT Torregiani (of Beso, Les Deux and Ketchup).
Pictured above was our favorite dish of the evening, Sylvain’s Ossobuco: Braised Veal Shank, Gremalota, Winter Greens and Grilled Polenta ($29).
Check out the photos below of the other dishes we tried including Stuffed Agnolotti with Short Rib and Sautéed Prosciutto Wrapped Jumbo Shrimp. Pictures by Allen Liu.
Agnolotti – Stuffed With Short Ribs, Rice, Swiss Chard, Demi Cream Sauce ($22)
