Melting Ceramic Teacups and Bowls Look Like Sad Ice Cream

For a lot of us, it’s been one helluva hot summer, and it looks as though our dishware can’t even escape the sweltering heat. But get this: It’s all part of artist Livia Marin’s ‘Nomad Patterns.’

In this series, Marin created beautiful teapots, bowls and other delicate ceramics that appear as if they’re melting into an equally beautiful molten puddle. We have no idea how she achieved this, but her attention to detail and intricate patterns are truly impressive.

Even though these sculptures aren’t functional, we still think they’d make for some pretty cool kitchen accents. Or the key part of a great prank.
