McDonald’s: First Southern California ‘Green’ Location Opens Today

Riverside will be home to McDonald’s fourth US location seeking the green LEED Gold certification. Opening later today, this location will feature many interesting and eco-friendly features. Light colored hardscape will reduce heat emissions from site and recycled denim insulation will be used inside the building. Native drought tolerant plants to reduce water consumption will be used in the landscape, with low-flow plumbing fixtures used throughout to reduce water usage. Also, what would an eco-friendly location be without 294 photovoltaic panels to generate a percentage of the restaurant’s power from the sun.

This location can be checked out by heading to 2242 University Ave., Riverside, CA. Check out that lush interior. Ooo lala!
