McDonald’s Testing After Midnight ‘Munchies Menu’

It’s not quite like Jack In the Box’s all-day breakfast, but it’s encouraging. After past experiments with after-midnight breakfast, McDonald’s will be testing another after-midnight menu that includes not only breakfast menu items, but the lunch/dinner items as well.

Participating Mcdonald’s in Rockford Ill., will be running a test where selections from both menu items will be available between midnight and 4 a.m.. After 4 a.m. its standard breakfast-only menu will resume until 10:30 am..

McDonald’s recently ran a similar test in participating Ohio and California restaurants where it was offering its breakfast menu items from midnight to 10:30 am, but did not include the lunch/dinner portion of its menu within those times.

The Menu from one of the Illinois stores.

McDonald’s representatives have said in the past that the trouble with serving breakfast all day is the limited kitchen space, but major news about its breakfast is expected to roll out in 2013.

Although limited, the menu items that would be offered in the wee hours of the morning would include the Egg McMuffin, Sausage McMuffin with Egg, Hot Cakes with Sausage, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal, and a Sausage Burrito from its breakfast items.

The Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Chicken McNuggets. Fries, McCafé beverages and some desserts would likely be included from the lunch/dinner menu.

Here’s hoping we get a chance to enjoy a delicious McMuffin after a rough, late night.
