Adventure: Super Cuca’s (Isla Vista, CA)

A few weeks back, a few of the crew hit the road to get our #foodbeast on along central California. On our way to Cambria, we of course had to make a quick party stop in Santa Barbara. After a few drinks at some random house parties (Isla Vista is always a winner for you #drinkbeasts), we decided to swing by one of our favorites, Super Cucas. Open 24 hours a day, this spot is equally as delicious, if not more reputable than other nearby Mexican fare (hint: FreeB!rds).

The decor is on point, the portions are serious and the prices are fair. If you’re into good looking people, good Mexican food, you will definitely enjoy this spot.

A quick shot of Marc and Matt, pushing past me and into the restaurant. Don’t get in their way when they’re hungry. You should have heard the argument him and our friend Giovanni got in when they were deciding on where to eat…FreeB!rds or Super Cucas. Obviously, Marc won.

Salsa bars are always a +1 in my book, especially when they have the selection that Super Cucas provides. Around the table, I got the Shrimp Super Plate ($8.99) which is a major dish filled to the brim with shrimp, grilled veggies, rice, pico de gallo and corn tortillas. I dare you to finish it all!

Marc ordered up the spot’s notorious California Burrito ($6.89), filled with french fries, guacamole, cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo and Marc’s choice of Carne Asada. Matt decided to fill his stomach with the Carne Asada Super Nachos ($7.69), made up of beans, cheese, avocado, sour cream, pico de gallo and mounds of carne asada! Giovanni rounded out his meal with a Veggie Burrito ($6.99), filled with grilled vegetables, cheese, cream, rice, beans, onion and cilantro!
