Hardee’s Releases Gloriously Fried Bologna & Velveeta Biscuit

It isn’t the salt or the nostalgia or the oil that elevates fried deli meats like spam or bologna from mere lunchbox staples to art form. No, it’s that crust.

New to the Hardee’s line-up is the entirely unhealthy Fried Bologna & Velveeta biscuit, a flaky invention consisting of — as you might expect — Hardee’s delicate made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuit, melted Velveeta, a slice of fried Oscar Mayer, and a folded scrambled egg.

According to Wikipedia, the deep fried bologna sandwich is indigenous to the Midwest, South, and Appalachian region, and fittingly this thing is only available at Hardee’s and not Carl’s Jr. locations. A shame really, because we can think of no better reason to end our summer diets early.
