Yelp Announces New Supergroup Level that Surpasses Gold Elite
Are you stoked you’re finally a Yelp Elite after being 98 reviews and 896 photos deep? Well, let me ungraciously burst your bubble.
Yelp selected 11 of their most “exceptional Yelp Elite members” to take a spot on their new Advisory Council For Really Outstanding National Yelp Members, or, er, ACRONYNM for short. The company chose the members based on “who we felt could offer insightful feedback on their hometowns and help us take the Yelp community program to the next level.”
This council of sorts is a significant step up from the coveted “Gold Elite” status. While I’m not sure on what you have to do to achieve Gold (maybe you have to gain a certain amount of dragon killings?) and what it actually gets you (a fast pass at Umami? You get to unlock the secret menu at In-N-Out?), I’m sure many Gold Elites are a tad tiffed they weren’t picked.
The review site claims that ACRONYM, aka the Yelp Supergroup, was formed to help the brand improve on everything from the site itself and to strengthen community events.
