This Artist Draws On Food To Make It Look Like Completely Different Food

Ever since that stupid black and blue dress freaked out everybody, it seems like people have been looking for more optical illusions to piss them off.

This one’s not that bad, but it’ll still make you cringe a little. Japanese artist Hikaro Cho has found clever ways to draw on certain foods, making them look like something completely different.

Some of the foods might not look completely real in their drawn form, but that’s good, because it actually isn’t what it appears to be anyway.

Check out the reveals below as this 21-year-old artist from the Musashino Art University in Tokyo makes you question everything:

__________

We already showed you this cucumber, but if you peel off its skin:

__________

It’s actually a banana! But you knew that.

__________

Now this orange looks like it came from a fake fruit basket

__________

Is actually a tomato!

__________

On the surface, this might look like a toy Chinese egg plant,

cho5

__________

But it’s actually just an egg, no plant!

cho6

__________

This looks like your run-of-the-mill Japanese Daifuku rice cake, like the kind Pikachu used to munch on,

cho7

__________

Would you have guessed it’s actually a tangerine?!

__________

I know what you’re thinking, this is obviously a tiny voodoo head that was compressed by a witch doctor.

cho8

__________

Wrong! It’s a freakin’ potato!

Hopefully you found these to be a fun time-killer. Check out more of Cho’s art here.
