McDonald’s Hints MAJOR Reveal Next Week, So We Made A Few Guesses
A few days ago, we received a mysterious box from McDonald’s. Upon opening the black box, we discovered a napkin inside with these words:
BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT McDONALD’S.
The message was followed by a date of Jan. 26, 2017. Our curiosity was piqued.
Not ones to sit in ignorance, we put our heads together and came up with a few possible things that could happen on that very day. It’s gotta be one of these, right?
Deluxe Breakfast Platters
While McDonald’s has pretty much made every breakfast menu item available all day, one thing still eludes US patrons once the clock hits 10am: The Deluxe Breakfast Platter. The breakfast item comes with hash browns, hotcakes, an English muffin, bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs.
While all the compenents are available to order seperately after breakfast hours, it’s still a bit of a pain to get your hands on unless you’re willing to shell out the extra cash to add four additional items onto a Hotcakes with Sausage Platter.
New Chicken McGriddle
Speaking of breakfast, McDonald’s locations were spotted testing these mouth-watering fried Chicken McGriddles. The sandwich was met with much success in Ohio last year and was released in select McDonald’s spots in Florida.
While available until April 26th in the East Coast, we West Coast fried chicken enthusiasts would love to get our hands on this juicy breakfast item.
Pork Katsu Sandwiches
McDonald’s locations in Japan started offering these insane pork Katsu sandwiches that were stuffed with cheese inside. Once thrown into the fryer, the cheese melts oozing into the mouths of patrons with each and every bite.
This item’s a bit of a long shot, but there’s definitely a market for fried meats stuffed with cheese here in the United States.

Waffle Fries
Our neighbors to the north, the great nation of Canada itself, had begun serving waffle fries on their McDonald’s menus for a short time. The fries were accompanied by an insane Hash Brown burger we definitely wouldn’t have minded trying, had we any friends in Canada to ship us a box of.
And yes, we would like some McDonald’s poutine with that.
Different Sized Big Macs
Late last year, McDonald’s announced that they were introducing two new Big Mac size variations. The Mac Jr. and the Grand Mac will be at the two ends of the Mac-tacular spectrum, one sandwich boasting only one beef patty and another featuring two thicker patties.
The fast food chain said that they’ll be available nationwide sometime in early 2017, which we’re betting will be Jan. 26’s big announcement. Guess we’ll find out in a week.
