Some Hot Dogs Could Contain Human DNA
Most everyone knows that the way hot dogs are made is gross, but most people don’t know what’s in them. For good reason: we don’t want to. The last thing I want to hear is that the hot dog I’m eating was made from an actual dog.
That being said, there are times when we definitely need to know what’s in them. Clear Food, a relatively young company dedicated to showing people what exactly is in their food, recently released a report on hot dogs revealing that 2% of the 345 hot dogs tested contained human DNA in them, which isn’t a big deal…
…FOR HANNIBAL FREAKING LECTER.
While the odds of you eating one of those hot dogs is 1 in 50, somebody somewhere will eventually be that 1, and it could very well be you.
Sure the FDA may allow for these things to pass due to their small numbers, but Clear Food’s mission is to place all of the facts in front of you and allow you to decide for yourself if the food in question satisfies your own personal standards or not.
If potentially eating another person doesn’t bother you, then feel free to go grab a hot dog and eat your heart out. Or, rather, someone else’s heart. If you’re unlucky.
