This 4-Pound Taco Challenge Has Been Nearly Unbeatable For Almost Two Decades

This isn’t the biggest taco in the world, since Mexico decided to make a ridiculous 35-foot taco back in 2003, but Chacho’s Tacos in Corpus Christi, TX has its own ridiculously large taco that’s not only tangible, but is available for you to try to take down in a challenge.

The ChachO’s Taco challenge asks you to down their 4-pound taco in 10 minutes or less. The contents of the monster taco are a homemade 14-inch tortilla (Duh, unless they have a supplier of huge-ass tortillas), beans, cheese, carne guisada, egg, potatoes, and bacon, according to My San Antonio.

They’ve held this challenge for customers since 1998, and in those 18 years, only five people have conquered the taco, earning themselves a spot in the shop’s hall of fame and a free shirt.

Most L.A.-natives like myself have no problem with chowing down on 4-to-6 tacos at a time, but this challenge is clearly at a different level.

Big ups to those five people who actually finished it. Heroes are hard to find, but anyone who can eat that much taco, deserves a Superman-like statue dedicated to them.
