Coke Voted Best Soda Of All-Time, Pepsi Wasn’t Even Close
I know several good-hearted people who inexplicably prefer Pepsi over Coke, and I respect their right to be wrong, but there is finally a survey that shows how wrong they are.
Ranker put up a list of “The Best Sodas of All-Time,” and after 185,000 votes were cast, Coca-Cola (4,775 upvotes) took the top spot.
There were 99 different sodas that received votes, from the ever popular Dr. Pepper, all the way down to a U.K. favorite called Lilt Soda.
Pepsi-Cola (1,831 upvotes) which has always been in a pseudo competition against Coke, came in at No. 10, and got beat out by the likes of Canada Dry Ginger Ale and even Cherry Coke.
Sure, our grand world consists of over 7 billion humans, and 185,000 votes might seem granular, but even in official sales, Coke usually comes out on top, according to Beverage Digest’s annual figures.
Even with these rankings, it seems like Americans are slowly turning their back on soda, as in 2015 both Coke and Pepsi suffered a 1 percent, and 3.2 percent loss in sales, respectively.
We might not be drinking as much soda as we used to, but the only thing that matters is that Pepsi drinkers understand that they’re drinking an inferior product.
