Andre The Giant Drank Over A Gallon Of Rosé Right Before His Fights

Professional wrestling legend Andre The Giant was known to down more alcohol than you and your frat bros combined, so it should come as no surprise that he used to drink up to 6 bottles of wine before every match, and still slam people around like a boss.

In an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, former wrestler Gerald Brisco said the giant used to ask him, personally, to get six bottles of Mateus Rosé wine and stick them in ice before his matches started. Andre would then drink all six of the bottles and fight without any visible hindrances.

Imagine a 7-foot-4, 520-pound monster, chugging an insane amount of flowery pink alcohol.

Pro-wrestling was so much about keeping a tough image and the biggest guy on the planet gave zero f*cks about how girly his drink might have looked. Comparing it to today’s wrestlers, that’d be like Brock Lesnar getting caught drinking a strawberry daiquiri. You’d be surprised, but wouldn’t dare give him any shit about it.

“There are a lot of crazy stories about Andre that sound fake but most are true, especially his drinking,” Brisco told the Tampa Times.

If the stories are true, it’s a little terrifying, because former wrestlers have told stories about Andre drinking 156 beers in one sitting, as well as ordering 40 drinks for “last call.”

He was certainly no lightweight, and would absolutely crush YouTube alcohol challenges, Today.
