One of the greatest tragedies in life is that most foods just don’t taste enough like onions. Onion Crunch does taste delicious on pizza. But then again, we wouldn’t be Foodbeast if we didn’t have a little fun with this now would we?

Domino’s pizza is trying to get serious about a value menu as Feb. 6, it debuted its deal of 16 Parmesan Bread Bites for $1… with the purchase of two $5.99 medium pizzas.

It’s a pretty good deal. You can’t just walk in, give them $1 and take home some bread bites, but it is a nice addition to a family meal. It might have been greatly appreciated if the debut was, say, yesterday when millions of people were buying pizza for a pretty big football game, but hey, you take what you can get.

Domino’s also debuted “Think Oven,” an online suggestion box located on its Facebook page.

I don’t know if anyone ever thought Domino’s was horrible, but it has really been pushing its, ‘We screwed up as a company and we’re trying to get better,’ angle for a couple years now.

I say everyone goes to the “Think Oven” suggestion box and tries to get them to fork out 16 chicken wings for $1.

That’s a LOT of pizza. In fact, that’s 1,200 tons of dough (5-times the weight of the Statue of Liberty), 442 miles of Pizza and 90,000 gallons of marinara sauce (enough to fill 5.7 million Boston Cream Donuts).

We’re well aware this is just a promo piece for the pizza giant, but it’s still interesting to look at. Here are a few more cool tidbits:

We all have our little rituals when it comes to eating food. For instance, sometimes I’m so lazy that I’ll pick up popcorn with my tongue instead of moving my hands. This guy hits it on the nail for a lot of the things people do when they chow down. Pleated Jeans showcases a variety of ways that snacks should be eaten in what I agree is the most practical of ways.

The “L’asso 2012 Pizza Calendar” themed “Pizza is My Lover” is a racy 12-month calendar featuring pizza…as pinup girls. The shoot was handled by Ashley Macknica, and even includes a pull out centerfold. The Calendar is priced out at $10, and from the available shots we’ve pulled from the brand’s purchase page, we get a pretty decent idea of what to expect. Pizza sitting sexy on a furry single seater? How about posing on a beautiful beach? To find out the other 10 months of the year, it looks like we’ll have to buy it.

It’s up to you if you care that much.

You might have already seen the ads on television, Pizza Hut is bringing back its $10 Any Pizza Deal for a limited time. A rep for Pizza Hut told FOODBEAST that the deal would last at least until Super Bowl XLVI or February 5th for you non-sports fans. That’s right people. Any size. Any of the 12 toppings. Any Signature Crust – Pan, Hand Tossed or Thin n’ Crispy. NOTE: Stuffed Crust WILL cost you extra. For 10 bucks.

Pizza Hut has also started a new Facebook Contest for Pizza Lovin’ singers who want to create their own version of the new ’10 Dollar Pizza Song’ which will appear in a future national commercial. If you work crazy hours at a Sbarro’s Pizza, this is what you can expect to come home to on your birthday if you have a creative, thoughtful sibling (or one that wants to drive you crazy). From a distance, this almost passes as a truly delicious looking savory dish.

But upon closer examination, you can see all the sweet components that make this Realistic Pizza Cake so special: chocolate chip short cake for frust, cream cheese frosting for the first layer of cheese, strawberry jam tomato sauce, orange icing, strawberry slices emulate some real thick slices of ham, blueberries for olives, cut up green toffee for peppers, brownie pieces for the sausage, Chocoshrooms for mushrooms, guava slices for pepperoni and mounds of coconut for shredded cheese.

Some times food looks so good, so well-constructed, and so creative it just brings a tear to my eye. In the case of the always talented Mirko, the mind behind personal food blog Fat and Tasty, he’s truly making me cry with this Superman Pizza. The dough is in the shape of the iconic silhouette, cheese is obviously in attendance, and thin sausage slices make the “S” on the chest.

I’m super curious as to how Mirko ended up slicing this bad boy up. How would you do it if you had the chance? Slice it into quarters? Maybe long, horizontal stripes (shorter obviously as you get towards the bottom’s narrow point). Here’s a look at the pizza prior to the oven:

I like extra crispy pizza as much as the next guy. Sometimes I like to throw frozen pizza back in the oven for a bit so it can brown. But this might be a little much. I’ll try anything once, but I think one shot is all I’ll be able to stomach with this one! Has anyone seen a crispier slice?

Domino’s is on its game when it comes to the pizza delivery business! Its new Pizza Hero App creates an innovative way for pizza lovers to have fun making pizzas and order it too. The game is very similar to Nintendo’s “Cooking Mama” where you use the touch screen capability to do tasks such as making, baking, and slicing in a certain amount of time. I think my favorite part is rolling out the dough to the right size. Download and play for yourself!

And once you’re done playing, you’ll be able to order — what a hero*!
