    Absinthe Mints
    December 30th, 2008 | Sweets | By: Staff

Absinthe has always been a subject of interest to me. For those unfamiliar, Absinthe is a strong, herb-infused, alcoholic beverage that was extremely popular with artists and authors in the late 19th and 20th centuries. One of the more predominant flavors of Absinthe comes from the aniseed, one of the primary ingredients of my favorite alcohol Arak. Absinthe itself is noted for its green color and stereotypically halluniogenic qualities. The folks over at Archie McPhee have put up a new product, Absinthe Mints, which maintains the unique anise flavor minus the side effects. You can get a set of 2 of these tins for $4.95. Get your giggidy-giggidy on!

    December 26th, 2008 | Sweets | By: Staff

It’s pretty amazing to note that the first Blizzard was brought into fruition in 1985, and now its more than two decades later with a variety of options that resemble a small army. The heads over at Dairy Queen are set to kick off the New Year with their latest “Blizzard of the Month”, a new Turtle Oreo Blizzard that will become available at participating locations beginning January 1st. The new Blizzard features cookie pieces, caramel and pecans blended with the notorious vanilla soft-serve ice cream. Look to drop $2.75 for a 12-ounce, $3.20 for a 16-ounce and $3.65 for a 21-ounce (only true option). Brain freeze, eat on! (Thx NRN)

    Your S’more
    December 24th, 2008 | Sweets | By: Staff

S’mores are dope. Actually, they are one of my favorite desserts. Only issue is, who has time to start a fire pit, gather all the ingredients, fix up a metal coat hanger and dangle all previously noted items above an open flame? Ok…so we probably do have that kind of time, but for the select few that have jobs that don’t involve you sitting behind a computer writing about food all day, you can check out this new product called Your S’more. The package comes with an aluminum bowl, packed with graham cracker, chocolate and of course a marshmallow. Of course, to get the right consistency and color on that marshmallow top, just throw it in the oven for 3-5 minutes and you’re good to go! Right now a 4-pack is on sale for $10.95, eat on!
