    Stella Artois
    January 3rd, 2009 | Drinks | By: Staff

With holiday cheer, comes holiday beer. Been sippin’ on these for the last couple days. Stella Artois is brewed in Belgium and packaged in the Beck’s brewery in Bremen, Germany. The Anno 1366 on the Stella Artois logo refers to the origin of brewing in the city of Leuven. The city’s tax records dated 1366 mention the existence of a local brewpub called Den Hoorn, (’Hoorn’ in Dutch meaning ‘Horn’ in English, as is represented in the logo on the beer label). The name Artois was coupled to the brewery in 1708, when new owner Sebastian Artois achieved the title of master brewer. Old beer, old taste, O.G.

    SPARKS Alcoholic Energy Drink Ban
    January 2nd, 2009 | Drinks | By: Staff

Apparently, pre-gaming on vodka and Red Bull is not as good for you as originally thought. The California Attorney General has placed a ban in conjunction with MillerCoors to stop the production of these caffeine-heavy alcoholic beverages. Though SPARKS is not the only drink in question, it does maintain 90% market share of alcoholic energy drinks, so it definitely is the older, more popular brother in the alcohol-energy family. If you’re interested in the entire announcement, feel free to read it after the jump:

    Sprite Green
    December 30th, 2008 | Drinks | By: Staff

Coca-Cola North America is gettin’ wild…or…maybe growing up? Regardless, pictured above is the bottle of the new “Sprite Green™,” the new reduced-calorie Sprite line extension. The fine folks over at Coca-Cola want to make it known that they expect to drop many new, naturally sweetened, low/zero-cal beverages sweetened with TRUVIA into the future. Each one of these Sprite Green bottles is defined by an 8.5-ounce, 50 calorie serving consisting of 5% lemon juice. Its target audience is noted to be active young adults and launches in two U.S. cities this month (or whats left of it), but early 2009 should see a much broader expansion of this new product. Cougar Energy Drink
    December 24th, 2008 | Drinks | By: Staff

I personally have been easing up on the energy drinks (they make pee). It’s a good thing these drinks aren’t targeted towards me (seriously, they make pee alot), infact, they are targeted towards females. The drink boasts no calories or carbs, but in my opinion, I like my cougars with a little bit of heft to them…if you know what I’m saying. Find a retailer near you, and drink on ladies!

    PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
    December 18th, 2008 | Drinks | By: Staff

Pomegranate was one of my favorite fruits as a child. Emphasis on the “was”. To make a long story short, when I was 14, I cracked open a pomegranate, only to find a slithery worm with pinchers crawling out of one of the seed holes. Needless to say I was traumatized and never worked on another fresh pomegranate again. Thankfully, this new product, Pama Pomegranate Liqueur, takes the undeniably sweet/sour taste of Pomegranates, the glowing red hue and the beautiful happenings of alcohol, and does its very best to try and eliminate the memories of deadly worms in live fruit.  This seems like one of the better holiday drinks available this Holiday, so get your drank-drink-consumption-beverage on.
