While news of Paula Deen’s plan to announce her diagnosis with Type 2 Diabetes has been the subject of many “ohhh shocker” and “Didn’t see that coming” jokes, it wasn’t until yesterday that the chef officially told the world.

On the set of the “Today” show, Paula Deen admitted that he had the disease and has now become a paid spokeswoman for pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk.

The interview revealed that Deen had actually been diagnoses three years ago, but took some time to cope with the disease, consult her physician and reflect with her family. At the time of her initial diagnosis, her concern was that she had nothing to give her “fellow friends,” but now, in partnership with the pharmaceutical company, she’s offering recipes and information about the disease via a new website, DiabetesInANewLight.com.

Her memorable line in the interview sets the tone of her life and career moving forward,

According to a recent interview with USA Today, Paula Deen said she gave up her favorite sweet tea, she’s exercising regularly on a treadmill and taking Victoza (Novo Nordisk non-insulin injected diabetes medication. This LA Times article also reminds that Deen has other vices outside of fatty foods, including a 50-year smoking habit (definitely a possible risk increaser for developing diabetes).

Sure Bill Clinton’s faced a lot of controversies while in office. But according to his former Presidential Pastry Chef, Ronald Mesnier, Clinton was crazy about his sweets.

Mesnier told FOX News that one night he had made a strawberry short cake, which the President had eaten half in one sitting and woke up the next morning craving more.

“No one could find the cake,” said Mesnier. “Clinton was pounding on the table and shouting, ‘I want my goddamned cake.’” If the most powerful man in the free world wants cake, you better believe you need to get in that kitchen.

Clinton was known for his bad diet habits while in office, a diet that included countless sweets, snacks, and trips to McDonald’s. Clinton could even eat five or six pork chops at a time, Mesnier told FOX. In 2004, he went through a quadruple bypass.

Since, he has adopted a vegan lifestyle. But the world will never forget what a FoodBeast this man truly was.

Reports from several sources claim that popular chef and entrepreneur Paula Deen will soon announce that she has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, a disease often linked to obesity. If the claims prove true, it looks like Paula’s career of hawking fatty, butter-lathered dishes will have finally caught up with her.

The 64-year-old chef faces rumors of potentially signing a multimillion dollar deal to become the new face of a Novartis drug used to help treat the disease, but a Novartis rep told CBSNews that they hadn’t signed a deal with her.

While Dean has maintained some sensual and tasty cooking shows and recipes in years past, her two sons who have become food television fixtures themselves, have found their way to a healthier lifestyle (they’ve both trimmed up since their earlier years on television). Her son Bobby Deen currently has a series entitled “Not My Mama’s Meals,” a show on the Cooking Channel that transforms his mother’s Southern comfort food into lighter and lean dishes without compromising all the taste.

Paris Las Vegas has just announced that world-renown celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay will be opening a new restaurant inside their iconic hotel and casino in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip and is set to open in Spring 2012. Gordon Ramsay’s Steak will replace Les Artistes Steakhouse at the Paris Hotel and Casino and will feature a multitude of different menu items, as well an ambiance that highlights elements of Ramsay’s hometown of London.

The Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmare star says the restaurant will feature a wide array of beef cuts, along with a sizable collection of seafood options including a classic English dish, Fish and Chips. The restaurant will also feature the chef’s signature Shepard’s Pie in its menu. The beef used in each dish will be aged in a unique process under the direction of Chef Ramsay and his culinary team.

The restaurant itself will seat 274 people at a time, not including a copious bar area where guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy the London-esque atmosphere Ramsay plans to achieve for his restaurant.

Ludacris’ Chicken and Beer. It’s not just the name of the rapper’s 2003 album anymore, but the namesake of his second restaurant endeavor. The hip-hop artist announced over Twitter of his next eatery earlier today where it was mentioned that it will be opening in Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, which is one of the busiest airports in the country.

No word yet on an exact date for the restaurant’s grand opening or what type of food we can expect to purchase from the restaurant, but logic points to two obvious options: salad and cranberry juice. Joking, of course!

How many of you remember MMMBop? You know, the song you sang every morning the shower in the 4th grade. No? Just me? Well the band who wrote and performed it, Hanson, has announced that they will be going into the beer business.

The brothers (Isaac, Zac, and Taylor) will be creating an Indian Pale Ale that they plan on distributing early next year. The beer will be named after their hit single MMMBop: MMMHop IPA.

Those who are familiar with popular musical artist, Deadmau5, know him for his iconic mouse headgear and dropping dope beats. He’s already good at what he does, but could it be true that he wants to put down the DJ headset for a knife? No, not really, and we can all be thankful for that.

In this promotional video for the Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas called “Job Fail,” we can see Deadmau5 horrendously butcher up a fluke in front of renowned sushi chef, Devin Hashimoto in an attempt to discover new occupations at the hotel. Why? Because I guess he needs more to do with his life now that he is not traveling around from city to city. Deadmau5 has signed exclusive residency for the next year at the Wynn starting January 2, 2012 and will be putting on shows exclusively at the hotel’s venues.

Case in point, here’s a picture of Chef Mario Batali that he Tweeted of himself in full Guy Fieri attire. Pretty on point, right? Not sure if Guy would be down with the Crocs, but it’s definitely a worthy costume.

Just a thought — how sweet would it be if Mario Batali hosted one of Guy Fieri’s ridiculous shows, and vice versa? Can you imagine Guy Fieri trying to cook, and Chef Mario Batali trying to out of his mind? Wait…

You might know him as Dwight Schrute from the NBC show The Office, but today, Rainn Wilson is making some serious rounds for his peculiar Twitter antics. On October 25th, he let out a Tweet that was supposedly a private message for his assistant that read: “Joanne — tell @DelTaco I will accept $12,000 to plug their shitty food. Thanks, Rainn”

That “private text” actually went out to Rainn’s 2.6 million Twitter followers. He quickly followed up that Tweet with the following: “Please disregard last tweet — was a private text to my assistant.”

He then followed that one up with the plug, “Loving the new @DelTaco Macho Bellgrande Burrito! It’s Beeftacular(tm)!”

Now the question is, did Rainn Wilson actually make a huge mistake, or is this all part of a unique publicity stunt for Del Taco? Further uestions that immediately come to mind are:

• -Why hasn’t Rainn Wilson deleted his inadvertent “text” if it’s so defamatory towards the Del Taco brand?
• -Rainn Wilson is a rather avid Twitter user, would he really make such a mistake inadvertently?

If it turns out that Del Taco actually did commission the tweet, what are your thoughts on pay-for-tweets such as this? If he hadn’t turned it into such a fiasco with his “inadvertent text” beforehand, it would mean a silent a $12k Del Taco endorsement from a major celebrity.

There appears to be a lot going on here. Or, very little.
