Jamba Juice Releases Grab-and-Go Food Menu
June 15th, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures, Eats, Features

    jj_first_spread

‘Today Jamba Juice launches a complete range of delicious simple and on-the-go food items’.

‘Jamba Juice announced their most significant addition to its menu offerings since it’s opening in 1990, with a rollout spread of California flat breads, wraps and cold tea infusions. Satisfying high customer demand for great tasting, on-the-go food for a healthy lifestyle, Jamba Juice’s tasty new  items are made with high quality, good-for-you ingredients and will be available in 222 California locations for the time being. Following the successful launch of Jamba’s oatmeal topped with organic oats and berries this past winter, they hope to transform the companies entire concept to offer simple and healthy options to their customers other than just their great smoothies!’

One of the many perks to working for foodBEAST is sometimes we are offered amazing opportunities like the one that Jamba gave me this last Friday. Upon my flight arrival in San Fransisco, myself and about 12 other website editors were able to tour the Jamba headquarters, see the employee smoothie kitchen, and then actually test all of their new food items in their magnificent test kitchen. Check after the jump for my entire experience and why Jamba Juice is making competitors scared.

A Visit to the Taco Bell Test Kitchen
    June 1st, 2009 | By: Elie | Adventures

Last week, I was graciously invited to visit Taco Bell’s test kitchen to learn more about their Volcano Menu and take a quick tour around their Irvine, CA headquarters. Taco Bell had a select few food writers flown in from around the country to tour the facility, get creative in the test kitchen and meet up with the lead food developers and marketers behind their brand.

    Eladio’s Restaurant
    May 31st, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures

Recently I was in Santa Barbara for my uncle Mark’s wedding. After an incredible night of drinking and partying, and a morning of a pretty heavy hangover, food couldn’t sound any better. My sister had been to this spot on State St. called Eladio’s which sounded great to all the parties involved, so we all walked down the beach to get some breakfast. Follow me through this meal, because it was seriously on another level.

    Adventure: Sahara Falafel (Anaheim)
May 9th, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures, Eats

My parent’s had this falafel spot in the Bay Area that they had been going to for years before we moved away. They hadn’t had any in a long time so as a change of pace, I decided to drive to one of my favorite parts of Anaheim, the Arabic district as we like to call it. To get some food at a small hole-in-the-wall falafel spot. My friend Gio swore by this place and it didn’t disappoint. I need to carry my camera more, and not just take photos with the iPhone. Check this short little trip after the jump.

    Adventure: Hatam’s Restaurant (Anaheim, CA)
    May 7th, 2009 | By: Elie | Adventures

Yesterday was National Foodbeast Day, doubling as the day of our website’s birth, May 6th. While the entire day was filled with good eats, our lunch hour was shared with the homies from Loud & Obnoxious and IM-King clothing, all under one roof for some amazing Persian cuisine in Anaheim. Vince and Robert of L&O have had high praise for this restaurant ever since I met them, and I must concur, their taste is now 110% certified.

    Fatburger: Orange
    May 3rd, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures

I recently read that Fatburger had filed for bankruptcy, so I decided to swing by before the chance to taste their wonderfulness evaded me forever. My mom has always liked the turkey burgers from fatburger, so I talked her into buying me lunch. Here it is:

    Tokyo Cafe: Trip One
April 10th, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures, Eats

There is a secret hidden spot in the Orange circle; a secret hidden sushi spot that noone knows about that sells amazing sushi for super cheap prices. No one can find it. Ok, it’s not a secret at all, actually it’s probably one of the most popular places in the circle. Tokyo Cafe is a godsend. I could rave on and on about how amazing this place is, but instead I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Check out Elie and my business meeting:

    Subway: Anaheim (Harbor)
April 10th, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures, Eats

My friend Jackie and I met up with our boy Matt at Subway on Harbor, after a trip to the Land of Disney. I’ve been hooked on their meatball marinara sub for weeks now, so much that I talked Jackie into getting one to. Matt went with the sweet onion teriyaki, which is also always a solid choice. He’s just more of a meathead so he has to watch those carbs. Anyway feel the power of the sub after the jump.

    Bull Riding BBQ
March 24th, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures, Eats

My dear dear friend Candice had a birthday a few weeks ago, and to celebrate her Oregon heritage, she decided she wanted to go see Professional Bull Riding at the Pond. Nothing, especially bull riding, is complete without a lot of alcohol and a good ol’ BBQ. Check the damage after the jump:

    Ruby’s: Newport Beach
March 9th, 2009 | By: Taylor Corner | Adventures, Eats

Once a month there is a group bike ride in Costa Mesa called Critical Mass. This last weeks ride was from the Camp on Bristol to Balboa Pier. When you get down into Balboa there isn’t really much to eat, so a group of us decided to hit up Ruby’s on the pier, which happened to be the only thing in the area. I haven’t been to Ruby’s in a good minute so I was pumped to have a 50/50 milkshake with my sliders. Check the pics after the jump to make yourself hungry.
