Why Yankee’s ‘Man-Scented’ Bacon and Popcorn Candles Are Kind of Useless

Ostensibly, candles are meant to change or improve an area’s natural scent, but if we assume all guys are the lawn-mowing, bacon-frying, movie-binging blockheads candle company Yankee wants us to think they are, shouldn’t their homes already smell like this stuff?

Targeting the segment of the population who prefers the smell of deep fried pig fat to “Bahama Breeze” or “God Bless America” (?), Yankee Candles has extended its Man Candle line with two new scents, “MMM, Bacon!” and “Movie Night.” Although, the latter actually just smells like buttered popcorn, and not “musty basement,” as Cool Material jokes.

Both are available for a limited time and are perfect stockpile fodder for Father’s Day, or for tricking would-be suitors into thinking you’re marriage-material.

(Since goodness knows no man would actually buy scented candles for himself. Pshh.)
