This Life-Size Stormtrooper Cake Makes Confectionery-Cannibalism Quite Attractive

Created for the Arisia Sci-Fi Convention in Boston, MA, this Life-Size Stormtrooper Cake was the handy work of Amanda Oakleaf Cakes. The Star Wars-inspired dessert stands 6′ 4″ tall and weighs 300 lbs. The cake fed approximately 600 conventioneers, and took the Amanda Oakleaf Cakes entire team of 10 people two full weeks to put the Trooper together (cake wasn’t added until 2 days before it was to be served).

The process of creating the cake led the team to invent completely new “cake making methods” in order for the cake to be successfully put together modularly on site. Particularly challenging was the two sculpted Rice Krispy legs that supported the 300 lb frame of a body. Star Wars fans…and cake fans…what do you think? One of the best sculpted cakes ever created?
