Sausage Pancake Bites Return to the Dunkin’ Donuts Menu

Doing a bit of research in the last part of 2011, the folks at Dunkin’ Donuts have brought back to the menu an apparent fan-favorite — Sausage Pancake Bites. The sweet and savory portable item is a simple but genius treat, one that combines bite-sized sausage links wrapped in a maple-flavored pancake. They will be available for a limited time at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations nationwide, and will sell at a suggested retail price of $1.59 for an order of three.

The Bites were first introduced back in 2010, “as a way to provide our guests with a traditional breakfast snack in an innovative, portable way, and our guests loved them,” said Stan Frankenthaler, Dunkin’ Brands’ Executive Chef and Vice President of Product Innovation.

While pancake and sausage combinations have been on our minds for years, it wasn’t until early last year that Dunkin’ Donuts made them portable for the masses. Funny, this is going to the masses…not portable. Hah. Get it?
