A Beautiful Look at Snowboarding on Salt [VIDEO]

Filmed out on the Salt Flats of Utah, this awesome expedition of filmmaking and snowboarding on a sodium backdrop makes for one hell of a video. The same location used for movies such as Independence Day, Pirateas of the Caribbean and Tree of Life serves as the setting for breaking some serious speed limits. The boarders involved were being pulled along vehicles at speeds close to 50 mph.

For you cine-geeks out there, the short was shot on several different cameras, including the Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 7D, Canon T2i and the GoPro. For those of you that don’t care, and just want to see some Shaun White type athletics take place on a field of salt, here’s a look:

The first sentence disclaimer even alludes to this question in the
writer’s mind. I would say that the 7D is alone in the category of
Prosumer and that the 5D MKII belongs in the professional group. There
also aren’t many professional photographers I know who shoot Canon and
use the 7D as one of their main bodies. The price difference alone,
between the two, is enough of an indicator, let alone the technical
specs.  Surprisingly enough, I actually shoot a little more with my
“prosumer” 5D MKII than my “professional” 1D MKIV…..and I own both of
them. :) All in all, a good write up for someone who isn’t as well
versed in the differences between them all.
