Popeyes Introduces Dip’n Chick’n

For a limited time only, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has released another deep-fried finger treat. Known as the Dip’n Chick’n, this new item features premium chicken breast fillets, marinated in their signature Louisiana herbs, hand-breaded, and deep fried to a perfect golden brown. What’s so special about it? The chicken is actually served in a way that allows you to actually scoop the dipping sauce. Included with the new Dip’n Chick’n will be a double serving of Blackened Ranch Dipping Sauce, Cajun Fries and a Biscuit, all for $3.99.

Their next limited time only item? Not sure what it may be, but I can only hope that it’s a chicken smoothie they call the Grip’n Sip’n Chick’n.

There is so much butter in those biscuits. Like enough to make you ill upon ingestion.

Just had Dip’n Chick’n and hands down the best nugget-type meal I’ve ever eaten.  A meal that comes with extra sauce? Are you kidding me? Four bucks for an entire meal? What?! Popeyes…. I love you!

So I just actually had the dippin chicken from Popeyes…and I was sorely disgusted. Besides the fact that it took me over 30 minutes to get through a drive through window of 4 cars, the rudeness of the employees, and my overall negative experience in customer service…the chicken was DISGUSTING! it was flimsy. rubbery.and an obviously superbly “manufactured chicken” I left the drive through, with none of the sauces it comes with (the employees were obviously just sooooo busy to put them in the bag) and when trying to enjoy my meal, I almost gagged. It’s filled with way too much sodium, and the abuse of “flavors” doesn’t even make the food taste good. I was so disappointed with my Popeyes experience, and the meal was not even worth 2.00, much less the price of 4.99, which I thought was an amazing deal, but I guess you get what you pay for, or worse. I definitely don’t suggest it AT ALL, but if you decide to take your chances…at least order the rice and beans as a side, those were the only ok (still not good/great) part of the meal. Good Luck!

I always try to say something nice when writing a review. This time I can’t. I like Popeyes Chicken and decided to try their new Dip’n Chick’n special. In the picture it looks like nuggets or a “popcorn” chicken – in fact it is the assorted leftover cuttings from trimming better pieces of chicken. Each piece is an irregular odd size from clumps to crumbs in a soggy batter. These are the pieces of chicken that would normally be thrown away or used in pet food. A dish made from garbage!

In the store it is pictured with fries and a biscuit. You would expect these to be full complements. In fact it is just a few fries buried under the chicken and a biscuit about a quarter of the regular size. You get no warning about this “bait and switch”.

This dish is an embarrassment for Popeyes and more evidence that this franchise is spiraling down in quality and customer satisfaction.
