Starbucks Unveils $450 Rose Metal Gift Cards

Since endless peppermint mochas and gingerbread lattes aren’t enough to satiate the masses, Starbucks will debut its second round of $450 metal gift cards.

Like last year’s batch of stainless steel glory, the new card comes pre-loaded with $400 and automatically gives you all the benefits of a Starbucks Gold Level membership (free refills on coffee and tea, among other perks). Every card is handmade from a rose metal base with rose-colored coating and features Starbucks lettering laser-etched on the front. The limited items will be packaged in blue gift boxes with letters explaining the card’s value.

Only 1000 cards will be sold on Friday, December 6, at noon ET on lux site Gilt.com. The move to offer a smaller crop this time around is part of Starbucks’ attempt to up the ante and provide “an even more limited offering.” Given that last year’s 5000 steel gift cards sold out in six minutes, we’re pretty sure the internet will break around lunchtime tomorrow.
