ICYMI: Haagen-Dazs Does Sea Salt Caramel, Limoncello & More Gelato Flavors
Like McDonald’s serving breakfast all day, it’s that duh(licious) moment all of us having been waiting for. Finally, finally, the ice cream equivalent of really fancy wine is releasing their line of gelato. That’s right: Haagen-Dazs is going Italian.
Seven new flavors started appearing on shelves in April, accompanied by a mouth-watering description from Haagen-Dazs brand manager/resident poet, Cady Behles:
“Leisurely strolls through the piazza at dusk, an appreciation of centuries old craftsmanship, and a love of food that borders on obsession, these are the essential Italian moments we had in mind when creating Häagen-Dazs Gelato. As the first super premium national brand to offer gelato, we wanted to make sure we got every detail exactly right by providing those who know and love our brand with the perfect expression of the Italian experience.”
See that? Nom on Haagen-Daz gelato, and you’ll basically be in Italy. Presumably, the heightened prices cover air travel if you’re not there already.
Anyway, the new flavors are: Sea Salt Caramel, Dark Chocolate Chip, Vanilla Bean, Stracciatella (like a sweeter version of chocolate chip), Cappuccino (yes, please), Limoncello (made with lemon AND VODKA!), and Black Cherry Amaretto (made with black cherries AND AMARETTO!).
Hold up, Italy. That is 2/7 flavors with booze in the mix. You are doing things right. And peep that fancy black carton. Straight up class.
If you want to join in on the fun, keep an eye out. Haagen-Dazs will be selling 14 oz. containers for $4.79, while the guaranteed favorites, Sea Salt Caramel and Vanilla Bean, will also be available in “fun size” (3.2 oz.) for $1.49.
If you’re on the fence, just read through those flavors again. You’re welcome.
