Taco Bell’s Flamas Doritos Locos Cheesy Gordita Crunch is a Real Thing
The news is out that Taco Bell is testing more flavors of their ever-popular Doritos Locos Taco, and earlier this week we all got a glimpse of the Cool Ranch and Flamas variety spotted in the Orange County area.
Upon a return visit to procure a garbage bag-size re-up of the eerily delicious treats, we asked the pleasant drive-thru lady if the new Doritos Locos Tacos could be included in the Cheesy Gordita Crunch wraps. Without hesitation, she said, “Yes, of course. Which flavor Doritos Locos Taco would you like?”
We opted for the new Flamas flavor to get the Cheesy Gordita Crunch treatment. Imagine, the spicy chile and lime combination, zesty Pepper Jack sauce, lettuce, cheese and meat, all wrapped in another layer of a melted three-cheese blend and warm flatbread. If you like Taco Bell, you’ll love this item.
Apparently folks have been ordering this style of Doritos Locos Taco for weeks, but we wanted to check the validity.
Sure enough, the Doritos Locos Cheesy Gordita Crunch exists, and even if you don’t have the Cool Ranch or Flamas variety in your area, you can still get the greasy goodness of a Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Cheesy Gordita Crunch at your local Taco Bell by simply asking for it (it’s not going to be on the menu board).
There’s a slight up charge from the traditional Cheesy Gordita Crunch pricing (they make up the difference of the cost of a traditional crunchy taco and Doritos Locos Taco), but if you’re itching for something new, it’s well worth the less-than-half-dollar up charge.
Enjoy:
