The World’s Largest Lobster Festival Comes to LA (Sept 16-18)

If you’re on the “see food” diet, you’ll love this event. The 12th Annual Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival will be here in LA this weekend, September 16-18.  It’s famous for holding the Guinness World Record for the Most Seafood Served at any outdoor event. Last year over 32,000 geniune Maine lobsters were flown in and served. There won’t be any lobster impostors allowed at this festival! The emphasis here is the fact that they are only serving up MAINE lobsters, which are considered to be the creme de la creme of the crustacean family.

A $19 meal comes with a “whole steamed, pound and a quarter fresh wild-caught Maine Lobster, cole slaw, potatoes, sweet bread, lemon wedges, and a delicious buttery dippin’ sauce.” That’s a crazy good deal, but that’s not the only awesome thing to feast on at this event.

Great food will also be served from several of SoCal’s best food trucks. Grill em’ All Truck, the winner of the Food Network’s 2010 “Great Food Truck Race” will be there on Friday serving up their heavy metal inspired burgers. Fellow competitors, The Nom Nom Truck and Ragin’Cajun will also be there serving up their specialties. Other vendors include Lobsta Truck, and for those you are not seafood fans, there’s Cheeseball Wagon, Barbie’s Q grillin’ up ribs and roasts, and Coolhaus with award winning ice cream sandwiches.

Hope to see you all there for a weekend of great food, music, and…a PIRATE SHOW!
