Deep Fried Watermelon

We’ve seen a lot of things get battered and deep fried over the years, but this is a first — Deep Fried Watermelon. Our friend Nick recently came up on a deep fryer from Target, so he’s currently dealing with that initial “yeah, why not, let’s fry it!“-phase of his purchase.

His conclusion? While the other group of vegetables and fruits he fried were all amplified and made better tasting by the deep fried process, the watermelon was the only one he’d still prefer in its natural state.

 There’s just something about biting into a nice cold slice of watermelon that deep frying can’t make any better.
